Course Description

Systems analysis and design provides a general understanding of the systems development life cycle. Students will develop the analytical skills required to thoroughly understand a problem and formulate the optimal solution. Projects will require the student to use process modeling techniques such as data flow diagrams to assist in the analysis and design process.

Course Objectives

  • To develop in the student an understanding of the fundamental concepts of systems analysis and design.
  • To teach the student the analytical skills required to examine a situation in order to thoroughly understand the factors involved, to recognize any problems that may be present, and to derive potential solutions.
  • To help the student become proficient in the usage of analysis and design techniques.
  • To develop the student's awareness of the needs for systems analysis and design.
